Good call, its worth going a little deeper on that point. To be very specific, "passthrough" means that the device operates off of the power source independent of the internal battery. While they do differ in experience, I consider neither the crafty nor the mighty legit passthrough. Correct...

Every vape deserves a teardown! Good show.

I don't recall seeing a pic quite like that before and I find it very fascinating. I agree though, any discussion of the safety of this configuration and materials is best kept to a dedicated thread about material safety in ask FC.

dude! awesome pic. I really appreciate it, but I'm not sure I appreciate what we have going on there. :hmm::worms:

I like then anker bricks. They have various sizes. They all charge about as fast as wall warts @2.1A. I don't know how long it takes to fully charge a Crafty from completely dead, but I bet the brick can get you up and running in 15 minutes from a totally dead battery, if you don't mind...

There are pretty widely varying opinions on this and I myself have been back and forth and don't know where I currently stand. I highly recommend spending some time in the GH thread. Its an amazing little device, but its a bit of a "project" in my opinion and doesn't provide as solid of a...

I'm probably a one-percenter in the list of FF2 users sorted by fanboyism. The swappable batteries is a good point. I only disagree with you because of what has been demonstrated in this thread. Some people don't get or connect with the FF2. In a group of friends, he may have a few of those...

I think for your purposes, I'd recommend the crafty. It's mostly the part about sharing with friends at festivals, concerts, etc. In general, the crafty is a better vape for when you are doing things. It takes less focus and just always works. Especially if you have the dosing capsules...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

hahaha. Its totally useful stuff. Its primary purpose is to deoxidized connections that are made of materials that oxidize. It also will just generally clean crud off connections. Now, if someone says they noticed it made the highs really sparkle on their bose headphones after applying to...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

You've described me exactly. I'm an electronics enthusiast that builds computer and stereo equipment, I have a crazy sense of taste and smell and am a little hypersensitive. I had a very slight new vape smell/taste early on when I hit before putting any material in. It was nothing compared to...

I think it was current moving through my finger since there wasn't any residual heat when I shifted my grip. I'm sure there is all kinds of current hopping around the hopper. My TI reliably flashes red every time I screw in a battery. My SS never does this. I hope and expect that gh will...

Bad chemical taste would freak me out. I'd definitely send it back. You should get nothing but some of the cleanest tasting vapor available. We shouldn't expect that they are producing 100% flawless units. There are bound to be some duds.

Last week I packed all of my capsules with just a pinch of material. I've since gone through a few of them and overall it worked really well. Not the knock-you-on-your-ass-with-endless-huge-hits experience that the crafty is capable of, but four really nice hits at 365 and two small ones on...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

I did play with the glass sleeves a bit before taking the break and they made it quite easy to get very big hits without discomfort. Ultimately, it's a little bit of a kludge and not something I'm interested in. I do have big hopes for the hydrotube which is on its way from China. Somehow...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

I know some some people have stressed concerns about the recommended hole-cleaning procedure of using compressed air due to additives. I just want to toss out another recommendation since photographers have concerns with getting the additives on their camera sensors. The Giotto Rocket...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

I thought this at first too and it almost made me pass up the FF2 in favor of the crafty so that I could easily charge on the go. (yeah, I eventually added a crafty anyway, but not for that reason!) Now that I've had the thing for several months, I think very differently. I could be stranded...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

Go back and spend some time reading the early parts of the thread where @mitchgo61 goes through the process of learning the device. You have to do your homework on this one, if you are not connecting with it off the bat. Your bud should not be bubbling. In short, try tamping a little so that...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Yes! This is helpful advice that I accidentally omitted from things I tried. Just that the only downside to packing a full chamber is flavor. I don't think your advice is "wrong" per se, but to me it sounds like advice from someone primarily hitting through water. To me it makes the vapor...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Do a trial run first. It's becoming clear to me that we may all have very different behaving devices (even though I have two units of different materials from different sources that are virtually indistinguishable.) My hard palate is fucked like combustion this morning. I don't believe my...

True grit, @mitchgo61, true grit is how we survive. Honestly, I would have never ended up here, if I hadn't gone on a search for a portable and would not have known I was basically seconds away from death only having the Volcano. :brow: btw... the other day, your icon set my gym soundtrack as...
