    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Be prepared to receive an offer for an $80 credit for each OG Hopper that you want to trade in. They will probably also ask for tracking numbers to prove that you shipped the OG Hoppers and chargers back to HL.

    Discontinued Hopper io

Since one was an IO and one was an OG I would say that they would have different power needs and consumption, based on the difference in wattage of the heaters. I purchased the Ti OG Hopper that I used in this case in 2019. It is supposed to have "v5" internals. I also purchased a SS model at...

    Discontinued Hopper io

I had another battery experience similar to my previous one. I put one of my oldest batteries (at least a couple of years old) into my SS IO and charged it internally. The charger behavior was different from any I have seen before. Normally the LED flashes once, then ~10 seconds pass before it...

    Discontinued Hopper io

I think that a more detailed discussion would take place in a separate "comparison" thread, but to answer your question briefly I would say that the V-Leaf Go can provide nearly the same effects as the IO, but in my experience it is very dependent on the battery charge. I charge mine after each...

Grasshopper AC Adapter Kit (and 18650)

I think that all Hoppers "tick" to some degree, but it's not always audible to the user. I finally used my new power brick with the AC adapter and the IO yesterday. The "ticking" was definitely more noticeable with the AC adapter versus the battery, but it worked perfectly.

    Discontinued Hopper io

I can second the TinyMight recommendation on the basis of performance, however acquiring one, and getting support for one may prove to be more problematic. After that I would recommend the V-Leaf Go. It is cheap (about $70 USD) and is true convection. It has a smaller bowl than the GH and is...

Grasshopper AC Adapter Kit (and 18650)

I have only briefly tried the IO power brick that I ordered, connecting it once and verifying that the IO powered on. It seemed like the "ticking" sound (from PWM) was much more noticeable with the AC adapter that it is with the battery. Has anyone else noticed this, and does anyone think that...

    Discontinued Hopper io

I am currently investigating an issue with my Ti IO that is similar to one that you describe. I have a brand new battery that I charged in the IO. I got 1-2 draws from it before the Hopper went into low power mode. I then charged it in my Nitecore D4 and tried it in the IO again. It went into...

Grasshopper AC Adapter Kit (and 18650)

Thank you for this, I just ordered one. I was hoping to find a power supply that would work with the IO and would not require attaching loose wires to posts etc...

    TinyMight / TM 2

I have two TinyMights. I received the first one in January, and I received the second one in June. The one that I received in January only shows one LED color: red. When I push the button 3 times to turn it on I only see red LED lights. The one I received in June shows two LED colors: red and...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Yesterday I dumped the ABV from two OG Hoppers and two IO hoppers. The OG Hoppers are from 2019. I considered all four bowls as completely extracted. The ABV from both OG Hoppers was darker on the whole, with more variation in color. More black spots mixed with dark brown material. The ABV from...

    TinyMight / TM 2

I have always noticed some amount of static cling between the ABV and the TM stem when emptying the load. I wouldn't consider it a strong attraction, but it is enough to make cleaning the last specs of ABV from the stem a little annoying. It sounds like your experience is more extreme. I have...

Grasshopper AC Adapter Kit (and 18650)

You are correct, I should have said "common" instead of "normal". It certainly shouldn't be "normal" from an engineering standpoint. Your experience with the battery sled is unnerving. Did you say that your back end fell apart and you reassembled it? Was that before the battery sled incident? I...

    Discontinued Hopper io

I can report that I received a replacement body for my SS IO exactly 10 days after opening my RMA. It's working correctly with the replacement body. This is one case where Hopper's customer service was prompt and efficient.

Grasshopper AC Adapter Kit (and 18650)

That does suck and I'm sorry to hear that it happened to you. I have attempted to connect two slotted adapter to multiple back ends, on both OG and IO Hoppers. It became clear to me that the placement of the clip on the Hopper back end in comparison to the start of the threads is not consistent...

    Discontinued Hopper io

I opened an RMA on an SS IO unit that I received but never used. The unit will only power on if the body is screwed into the back end exacly right. Too loose or too tight and it won't power on. There is a very narrow range of tightness that will work. The issue appears to be with the SS body, as...

Grasshopper AC Adapter Kit (and 18650)

Just to be clear, are you saying that you experience a hot back end with the 18650 battery sled but NOT with the original Hopper batteries? I think that many Hopper owners have experienced a hot back end with the original batteries. I don't think that the AC adapter or the 18650 battery sled...

    Discontinued Hopper io

I have been shipping a lot of stuff via USPS lately (eBay sales). When I print the shipping label the USPS tracking shows that the label was created. What I do is take the packages to the post office, wait in line, and have the postal worker scan my packages into the system. At that point the...

    Discontinued Hopper io

Well HL asked me to try my Ti IO back end on the SS IO body, which was suggested here on the forum but was not something that I wanted to do (I don't like to mess with Hoppers that are working). The Ti back end produced the same results when I used it on the SS body, and the SS back end worked...

    Discontinued Hopper io

I have not had good luck with either of my IO units and the AC adapter. The body of my Ti IO will not screw all of the way on to the slotted adapter. It develops significant resistance about 80% of the way on, and I don't want to push it any further. The body of my SS IO fares better when...
