Even with the 10 amp Sanyo battery that came with the unit, mine has never been so hot that I couldn't touch it. Again I've never temp probed it but I don't think I would be able to hold it at 145F or Celsius. The higher amp battery's did seem to run a bit cooler but it is not a huge difference...
