So when I toast some bread in the toaster am I combusting it? I think not. Combustion is a chemical reaction that doesn't stop once the original heat source is removed until the fuel and oxygen are used up.
I wouldn’t trust that press. It looks so weak to hold 12 tons. It could just come flying apart. It could actually kill you. My 10 ton Dake flexes quite a bit under pressure. That little thing just isn’t going to cut it.
If your yield isn’t that good then unfortunately the herb wasn’t that potent to begin with. It might feel better to just vape the herb but your just asking your lungs to process more material for the same potency.
I still don’t understand the need for a filter when pressing flower. I don’t get even one speck of green in my rosin without one. And no worry’s about using to much pressure and blowing out.
No prepressing of hash is required. I’ll hand shape it a bit so it fits nicely into the bag. I get it fresh so I don’t need to hydrate it. I just store it in a bag in a cool dark place until I want to squish some.
One thing about squishing hash at low temp. If you do accidentally get a blowout you can just take your contaminated mess and put it in a new filter bag and try again. The end product will still be very nice.
There was some pressure but not enough to register on the gauge. It's very easy to press rosin from hash. You could probably squeeze the plates by hand and some rosin would flow. Ouch hot though. :D
I would still use parchment paper with this press. Removing the rosin from the paper is trivial. At 110 lbs it also looks quite heavy to roll over and back upright. How much does it weight again?
