By its design the clamp on the current container concentrates the force unevenly across the lid. Making it tighter doesn’t really help. The clips needs to be designed so that the force is applied to the center of the lid. Let’s not forget the bigger picture. Dabpress makes rosin presses. Really...

Searching google for “hygrometer lid” brings up many interesting results.

It works about as well as I expected it to from the images. It’s just dabpress schwag like a keychain or flashlight. Improvements are welcome though. :)

It leaks enough that over time the entire room stinks. Like I said stinky herb. :) The most cost effective smell proof containers I know of are glass mason jars. Especially using a food saver to apply vacuum.

I was thinking some heat shrink around the clip might help tighten it a bit. I don’t want to bend the wire since it will most likely just bend back under stress. The gasket seems fine. Maybe my herb is just extra smelly. :D

I got the herb container a few days ago. It’s pretty nice but perhaps not totally smell proof. I think it could use a bit more clamping force on the lid. The thermometer and hygrometer seem accurate.

It is counter intuitive to me to take a organically grown cannabis plant and dump solvent into it when there are better alternatives.

Yes I used a 3x7 dabpress. It started as trim grade hash. I yield around 75%.

I press a good bit of hash currently using some pressclub 37 micron filters at 170 degrees on my 3x7 dabpress plates which is actually closer to 160. I begin my press slow enough that the hash gets up to temp and the goo can turn to liquid before I start to apply any actual pressure. Otherwise...

220 is where I usually press. I don't get anything additional worth mentioning if I press hotter. One thought I've had is the rosin gets off the plates faster when they are hotter. Maybe the dwell time on the plates is at least as important as the temperature when it comes to preserving...

As a test try pressing some at 180. Then repress the puck at 250. You will most likely get very little rosin from the repress. Draw your own conclusion from this. :)

I think if your wanting to upgrade the jack you should be getting the diy plates and provide your own press. Only replace the jack if there is a problem. Hopefully there is never a problem. I will squish a quick gram and make sure mine is still working. :D

S&B tends to sue anyone that starts duplicating their propierty valve design. Water conditioning helps very little with the volcano. I’ve experimented with it for many years.
