Honestly there is no more chance that wooden puck goes flying then the herb we are squishing. It’s completely flat with no shear force acting on it. None the less I wear safety goggles when squishing and have a hazard sign on my press warning others to do the same.

I still haven't tried the alignment jig but I did make an improvement to my ram insulating puck. First I cut the laminate flooring out using a hole saw. Then I glued a magnet into the pilot hole from the hole saw. It now attaches to the ram making for a super clean and quick setup.

Yes I received it yesterday. It matches the press and is very nicely made. I'll try it out later this evening.

I’m trying bottle tech again today. I’ve yet to do it right but I’m giving it an honest go today.

I am not sure how useful the magnetic tool will be but I have one on the way. Might as well have the full kit. :)

It will increase the danger but I am used to working around hazardous machinery. Still I need to be careful. I play guitar and would hate to lose a finger.

I've done thousands of presses. My experience is the harder and denser the initial puck then the cleaner and clearer rosin you get. No filter is needed. My rosin is much lighter then what I generally see others produce. A good pre press design is an aluminum tube with delrin rod inserts...

I am also using 62%. I’d like to try higher but it’s easier to get blowouts from the escaping steam.

I don’t even bother with a bag when pressing flower. If the prepress is very tight then final product is very clean without a filter. That pneumatic setup is indeed cool.

This kit really is luxury. It seems no expense was spared when putting it together. Like an Apple squisher. Very svelte and sexy. :)

It will take another week or two to make it through that sweet press. I am meeting the iceman this morning so I will get to play in the workshop this afternoon. :)

Dabpress is adapting to the market quickly! I wish I had gotten that sweet amazon price but the 4x7 is worth every penny of $400. I don't see how anyone could be unhappy. I use a laminate floor remnant as insulation between the press ram and the top of the dabpress. It is able to withstand...

I made some ice hash rosin recently. Heat was at 190 degrees which I think I should go even lower. Experiment. Experiment.. :)

Don’t forget that when pressing there isn’t equal contact across the plates. The contact is on the puck. That is the real contact area. I agree that ten tons is plenty. I rate my presses by thickness of the pressed puck. I am getting very thin pucks with just 4 tons down force.
