I have chosen to ignore the buzz. If it keeps heating, I don't care.

I got the torch that comes with the Vapman and haven't had a single problem in the last 3-4 years.

That's a good idea. I turned it upside down and then blew hard up into the opening. Then I did a quick unloaded burn-off to see if I got any further combustion. Think I got it all.

The capsules and sleeves for the FW3 and FW4 are interchangeable. The cooling unit seems to work just fine on the FW3 and is certainly a better connection than using a Crafty CU.

OK, the extra screen is an interesting idea. It's strange that I never experienced that with the FW3.

    Firewood Vaporizer

Mystery solved on my combustion issue with the FW4. It appears that the bottoms screen went sideways sometime after I loaded it and material dropped down onto the coil. I think I managed to get everything off the coil but there are two glass tubes around the coil and there still seems to be some...

    Firewood Vaporizer

Good point! I think I'll try the FW4 without the cooling unit. Despite being a bit wimpy and coughing easily, I've never really had that issue with the FW3 -- even though it was adjusted up by 4. If the FW4 experience is similar, the cooling unit might just go into storage (after suitable...

If your wife is on-board, the smell of the butane probably isn't relevant. In my case, the WAF will NEVER happen. She once entered the room almost immediately after a butane session and wondered what that "hot" smell was. As I said, the smell is not strong and dissipates quickly. It just smells...

It certainly fits just fine and really doesn't look much more precarious than it does sitting on the FW4 (although it certainly doesn't look as professional). Haven't had a chance to actually try it but I'll give it a shot today or tomorrow.

I believe it's worth getting the torch. It works very well and is quite reliable. There is a faint smell after using the torch but it dissipates in a few minutes. I get the Calibri butane at a liquor store. Check out our friend @M0J0 at www.infinityvm.com. He has reduced prices.

Thanks, @Fat Freddy , I may need that. With only one FW4 session, I'm impressed. The FW3 flavors were impressive. The FW4 flavors exceed the FW3; the flavor lingers for a very long time. And the effects? .... Yep...

The new FW4 arrived today. The battery was nearly dead, so it's on the charger. I wasn't really paying that much attention and was surprised to get the Nitecore I1 with it. Using the D2 because I'm just too lazy to screw with it. The FW4 is smaller than I expected but looks beautiful. The...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

I should get my FW4 tomorrow. I love my SS and Ti GH's but if you chase flavor, the FW3 kicks ass. Nothing I have can touch it. But, it's a totally different experience from the GH and they complement each other.

I agree. I'm very interested but when I read the thread, I feel the same trepidation as when I read the Persie and ESV threads. (I have both and have grokked the use of the Persie at least at the functional level but the ESV is just pissing me off). It seems like you have to be a tweaker to get...

Good luck. We had to go to the brewery and were allowed a max of 3 4 packs.

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Heat-up time to first temp? 1:37. Much better. Taste? Meh. Probably should have done a burn-off or ISO dip. Tasted as plasticky as the Prima. Judgment reserved. If I can get two happy years out of this, I'll be quite happy with my original investment.

Bell's released their Black Note on Saturday, one day prior to their awesome event: All Stout's Day. Black Note is a bourbon barrel imperial stout. I get figs, chocolate, and espresso and it's quite smooth. Not sure it's quite up to Goose Island Bourbon County but it's close-ish. I'm avoiding...

    Crafty/Crafty+ by Storz & Bickel

Brand new Crafty arrived as a replacement, one day earlier than expected! S&B rocks and, for once, Fedex made me happy. Battery didn't have much juice so I'm charging her up now. Very nice that they send the full kit and include a dosing capsule.

    Crafty/Crafty+ by Storz & Bickel

I'm feeling pretty good about S&B support right now. My Crafty s/n was < 500 and the firmware was 2.04. Only 37 hours of usage. I created a ticket saying that my Crafty was taking nearly 4 minutes to get to first temp and explained I had very old firmware and wondered if newer firmware would...
