there's little if any functional difference between the Omni and non-Omni Ti-tip models other than the adjustable carb. people go for the Omni mostly because of its sleek engineering and 'wow' factor. it's indestructible, but the non-glass VCs are plenty tough. if you're concerned about budget...

the issue of sturdiness really only comes up with the OG (glass) - plenty of posts here attest to that. other than the 'set it and forget it' carb on the omni, there is little if any functional difference between it and all the non-glass versions. if you're a regular sufferer of 'upgrade-itis'...

people seem to agree that the various iterations of the Ti tip have more effect on resistance/draw than anything else - the most recent tips have the least resistance. tips being the same, Omni is functionally the same as non-Omni, draw-wise. Omni lets you dial in partial obstruction of the...

there were reports of machine oil left over from the manufacturing process a while back (around xmas); maybe this is still an issue. that's one possible cause of initial bad taste my second guess would be 'learning curve' - it's really easy to overheat this thing, even if you don't combust. it...

nn @Squiby, our resident go-to person for VC questions, has said that she thinks the answer is no - the differences are more about esthetics, durability, etc. - functionally the difference, if any, is minimal.

The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

I seem to recall some discussion of this earlier in this thread; the upshot was that people had different experiences, esp. between european and US distributors. the good news (I think): if the batteries on these were indeed failing at a high rate toward the end of the warranty or shortly...

The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

the so-called 'intermittent' issues in electronic devices: all you can do is continue using it until it really fails. you just never know. if it were me I'd hold off sending it in until the problem is permanent. otherwise, if you send it in and it doesn't misbehave on their bench, they'll either...

VCs are great with hard hash - no filter needed; I think it's because the temperature is just short of combustion. (my mighty can handle bubble hash just fine, but not hard hash - because it can't get to the threshold of combustion like the VC.)

there's definitely a learning curve; nothing serious though. different strains behave differently too. how long have you had yours?

Is the Firefly 2 right for me?

I haven't been following the FF2 thread for a while, so maybe people have come up with the 'right' technique, but anyways: you have to stir the FF2 every few vapes or so; otherwise you get uneven vaporization (i.e. a hot spot in the center). I used to use a MFLB (which you have to shake every...

    Are Strain Review Sites Useful?

in legal states there's a huge # of strains available. there are many sites that review them, which should help people choose. most of the reviews submitted by the public seem useless to me - IME about 1 in 10 attempt a serious review (at best). the editors seem to take their job seriously, try...

    CBD ?

from everything I've seen, it's tricky. good evidence for therapeutic use seems to exist for only a tiny # of medical conditions; there are tons of anecdotal reports of CBD's benefits, but the claims need to be tested. given all the research being done, I suspect we'll have some answers...

that's about right for a regular lighter. most people report low single-digit seconds for double+ torches not sure which one you're referring to as 'more expensive' (esp. if you're in NY!). no question that they're improving their game. they only added a 'how to torch' video recently. as a...

good comparison. I have a MFLB (which I never use since I got a mighty); the need to shake/randomize the load every hit is a PIA IMHO. with VC you don't. MFLB can't do hash - VC can. plus: (and I haven't seen this topic mentioned in this thread - which doesn't mean it isn't in here...) VC must...

definitely heat to the second click any vape that involves using a torch/lighter to 'roast' it will be less discreet than small battery vapes. the only saving grace is that with a multi-flame torch, the heat-up is just a few seconds. others may disagree, but I just don't see VCs as being the...

when I got mine in early dec., it definitely had machine oil on the tip - others reported the same, so some type of cleaning before use is probably a good idea. VCs are pretty non-fussy about grind. I've read that finely crushed hash isn't recommended, and if you don't make a 'degummed hemp'...

30 days of full usage tracking

I can relate. I've been keeping records for over 3 years. my goal wasn't so much to track usage as to rate strains. now I know when I tried a strain, its traits (energizing, social/party, project-y, potency, analgesic effect, flavor, how it behaves in my vapes, etc.), and I can read 2-3 phrases...

How to record info on strains--suggestions?

ever since the advent of medical, then recreational, dispensaries here, and the resulting huge # of strains, I tried to do something similar to what you wrote, minus a bunch of your categories. after ~3 years of keeping records, I concluded that it's pretty hopeless, for a number of reasons: -...

I found this thread after asking for recommendations for vaping hard hash, which seems to be one thing my mighty doesn't do well. after a brief learning curve (w/flower) with my Ti woody I finally tried it with some OG kush hard hash last night: success! with the CCD in the middle position, .05g...
