Beginner Buying a First Dry Herb Vaporizer

I haven't used a solo, but own a mighty and vapcap. while the vapcap is great, if I had to go with one, it would be the mighty. you're right that the battery issue sucks, but reliability doesn't seem to be a serious problem. just to rehash (!) all the old points about the mighty: great flavor...

based on numerous contributions to this thread, esp. people who have extensive experience with all the VCs, I think the consensus is that all the non-glass VCs perform pretty much the same, but the M, being steel, takes a bit longer to both heat and cool down than all the Ti tipped VCs...

I put it on top of the liquid pad, but there's a ton of variability re how different bubble and finger hashes behave (way more than with flower); with some I get vapor at fairly low temps (e.g. 165ºc), but some need to get way above that before they vaporize. I got enormous clouds at medium heat...

I'm a bit curious where you're reading all the negative reports. I've been following this thread for a couple years and most of the failures seem to stem from extremely heavy use, dropping, etc. I've had mine for a couple years without any issues (but I'm not a heavy user). european customer...

it's easy to get the idea that there are big differences in performance from portions of this thread, but the consensus from the 'old hands' who've experienced all the variants of the DV line is that those differences are pretty subtle. the M, being stainless steel, not titanium, seems to need a...

when they came out with the capsules, there was a lot of discussion of pros and cons. in the end, I'd say the verdict was that it's not a dramatic difference as far as the experience - it's more about convenience, like if you're going to be outside for a while, or want to make a quick changes...

I've been reading this thread for a while and there are a lot of people who are using their VCs multiple times a day for months on end - and I don't recall a single report of failing caps. and really? the whole thing is modular, so you can just buy a new cap. this has been discussed here: just...

I see that thread as an indication of what a great product the VC is; the OP put out a call for people to chime in on what's wrong with it - and (full disclosure: I only read the first few pages) only got confirmation that some other people share his/her feeling about draw resistance - and even...

even though it's legal in my state, it's still illegal to smoke/vape in public. I see people vaping tobacco all the time in public, so I figure an electric vape won't attract unwanted attention - but I can't really say that about any vape that involves a torch.

99% isopropyl alcohol. you can put the parts in a ziploc with the alcohol, then immerse it in hot water (no flames!) to speed it up, but that's not necessary. the manual's really clear about cleaning. it's really the wrong tool for the job. FF2 or vapcap are probably better choices if you're...

testimonial here... I tried my VC with bubble hash - and its efficiency kind of blew me away: 1/20th of a gram gave me 7 big clouds. that same amount would've yielded at most 2 bong hits. this thing's crazy good.

our resident guru, squiby, says the longer stem doesn't change the vapor's coolness (or anything else about it) - it's just a matter of personal preference

I second vapviking. the mighty's a 'session vape' - put in what you plan to use. the good news is that it's fine with small loads. a lot of people seem to think all that 'cooking' that goes on when you're not actually sucking on the thing is problematic, but my experience is that it actually...

AFAIK the VC is about as close to a bong as you'll find with a vaporizer. the reason's actually pretty simple: it gets hot - fast (if you use at least a double torch). if you get the dynastash (or figure out another way to pull off the hot tip safely and quickly), you can make up for not being...

they usually (always?) are charged when you get them. you don't have to worry about the 'proper way' to charge - just charge it when it gets low. the bad old days of rechargeable batteries needing particular charging methods don't apply to the mighty's batteries.

in a way, the vapor genie: a flame heats a piece of (I believe) pumice, which then heats the air passing through it on the way to the cannabis. I've got one, never really liked it; you have to stir it - a lot - to get full extraction.

as people have written, all the models work beautifully. if you're not picky about looks, just want the performance, you can go as cheap as the OG (glass); if you want something less fragile (plus you get the titanium tip), get a Ti woody. when I got mine, they threw in a plastic-y mouthpiece...

I don't see how. these use a bunch of O-rings; without those, it won't function at all. maybe there are O-rings made from some material that's ok for you, but if you're ruling out rubber, plastic and silicone, I think you're out of luck.
