    Discontinued Ghost MV1

I'm confused. if Bud's software was fine, why were the units released after his flawed? shouldn't they be the same as his? it sounds like you're saying a 'glitch' got into the production after Bud got his (pre-production) unit. but if that's the case, why the inconsistency? was this glitch...

what's truly baffling is the discrepancy between what early adopters are reporting and vape critic's reviews - it's like 2 entirely different vapes.

same thing happened to me once. good grinder, but it's a good thing it's orange, so you can see the broken bits clearly.

IME, if you've taken a bunch of hits at lower temps, going above 185ºC only makes sense if you want to get every last bit out of the load (flower, not hash); those final hits range from meh to nasty, taste-wise.

I didn't notice anything, but I wasn't looking - i.e. nothing jumped out at me (like a machine oil taste). I also haven't seen this subject come up at all in this thread, which I've watched (mostly) for at least 2 years.

different strains or types (e.g. bubble hash) vape differently. the top temperatures (190-210ºC) can definitely get kind of nasty with flower. I usually stop at 185 unless I'm determined to get every last bit out of the load.

I'm seeing some common themes as people report on their experiences with the MV1: - bigger 'bang' per hit - smaller # of hits per bowl, even factoring in the size of the crucible I'm a bit puzzled by the last one, since vape critic's reviews seem to indicate more hits per load than people are...

The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

based on a lot of posts here as well as my personal experience, the mighty is never going to give you that dark brown ABV you're looking for. there are different opinions on how much more extraction you can get by putting mighty ABV in other higher temperature vapes - and, if you do get some...

    Discontinued Ghost MV1

on behalf of what I suspect are the many 'lurkers' watching this thread, I'd like to thank the early adopters who are sharing their experiences. this vape came with pretty high (sic) expectations, nothing unusual, but vape critic's review amped up the buzz big-time. there are a lot of us who'd...

The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

there's nothing in the manual that says anything like this - I wouldn't worry about it. (I think the discussion about it not standing up is mostly about loading the bowl)

The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

you're right that mighy's ABV is more of an ocher color than dark brown, and you're probably right that it's due to mighty's lower max temp. other people have done similar experiments to you - vaping mighty ABV in another vape to see if it was fully extracted - but concluded that, despite the...

Ghost MV-1 Speculation and Shipping Thread

I kind of enjoy problem solving, so fwiw: if you could in fact bend the ears of the lid so it grips the crucible, and if you have pre-loaded crucibles (with bent lid ears), and you don't want to wait or blow on the hot crucible, you could go the vapcap route and use a magnet to remove the spent...

Ghost MV-1 Speculation and Shipping Thread

the crucible might be too hot to do this for a few minutes. assuming you don't mind waiting for it to cool down, it still looks awkward to put in the crucible without spilling (and if it's your 2nd or 3rd crucible, that could influence matters...). vape critic says he got used to it, so maybe...

Ghost MV-1 Speculation and Shipping Thread

vape critic said loading was a challenge at first, but he got better at it. if you look at his ratings table, 'ease of use' is definitely below the mighty. in a recent post he said units will ship with multiple crucibles; maybe people will figure out a way to pre-load crucibles so the lid stays...

The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

I haven't seen anything that made me think I need to replace mine (although vapcap works better for hard hash). maybe I should've written "from everything I've read, the mighty's as good as you can get for now - an opinion the vape critic shares, whatever you think of him." there are a lot of...

absolutely. lower temps = cooler, tastier, smaller 'clouds'; med. temps = still tasty and cool but less so, bigger clouds; higher temps = least tasty/cool, but the biggest clouds. I usually start around 165ºC, go up in 5-10º increments every 2-3 vapes. I usually change the temp at least 3x per...

if it indeed has lower draw resistance than the mighty (so sez vape critic), then 15 sec. would be more than adequate for me personally. if it realistically produces flavorful clouds like in his video, and doesn't have technical glitches, the only issue I see is stirring. the ghost site claims...
