The GH won't care at all since it's convection. Obviously drier is better since it will make vapor faster. If it's still moist, the moisture will be one of the first things to be evaporated away. Moist bud will work fine in convection vaporizers because the first hit or two will dry it out...

It's not battery cycling. There is heat in the back end because there is a point of resistance there(when there shouldn't be.) It's not something to just shrug off, ask the mechanical ecig guys. Things can go boom real quick by ignoring such things. My :2c: You should have no heat in the back...

If your back end is getting hotter than the middle of the body then you most definitely have a problem. The heat should be concentrated around the air holes(where the heater is) and forward to the mouthpiece. The heat should start in those areas and slowly keep moving further and further...
