With the short stem a causal night out or walk about is no issue for portability. It's not going to be a safety issue in those circumstances. If being active, the glass stem needs to be removed and put in a case, I agree. 18650 battery case works for short stem.

ELB's help keep gunk out of cooling unit. Also, glass makers, I want a glass stem with glass screen built in. I bet the cooling unit would not need its silicone gaskets and would work just fine. If the cooling unit is stuck, just heat it up or run under hot water.

I agree. My Herbalizer is getting much less use. ABV. I get darker ABV with an ELB versus just a pipe screen. Flavor is better without a ELB or capsule. And I do like just filling the stem by sticking it directly in ground herb. Herbalizer has better flavor, but we're talking on the margins...
