Just reiterating a tip from pages long gone... Reinforcing the power supply on the PD near the plug that goes into the device is a great idea. A tight, small wrap with some electric tape, or some shrink wrap will really help prevent the wiring from going loose and increase the longevity of it...

Right on, thanks for the skinny on that DMac. So if you got the 'regular unit', can you get a temp control later on? Basically I'm asking if the temp control is modular.
