AFAIK The majority of glass colours, especially the really special ones, are made in the US, the rest are made in Asia. There aren't many coloured borosilicate manufacturers. All that stock needs to travel the world in one way or another and I find it impossible to believe such sensitive glass...

You can usually make them bind by adding downward pressure at the same time as twisting very slightly. It's not as secure as a Keck clip though.
