    Dabpress Rosin Plates

Hey all! I am having an issue with my 3-ton Dabpress losing pressure. I tried to do a simple bleed on the bottle jack (release pressure valve and pump 50 times) but it’s still not able to hold at maximum pressure and contributing to blow outs as I am having to give it extra cranks to keep the...

    Dabpress Rosin Plates

Illinois just OK’d home grow for MMJ patients, so I’m hoping to be completely self sufficient in the near future.

    Dabpress Rosin Plates

I bought a $70 gram of rosin at the dispensary the other day to compare with what I am pressing at home and my rosin was way nicer. It’s turning me into a super pot snob.

    Illinois and weed

way to go Illinois... As of 1/1/20 dispensaries open for purchases for adult recreational consumption. Possession of under 30g allowed. No home grow, although MMJ card holders can have 5 plants. Also, all previous convictions for possession under 30g will basically be automatically expunged...

    710 coils

So after a few months usage with 710 coil/25mm opaque banger and RDK300, I have settled into to a temp of 475F with just a bubble cap, no pearls/no insert. I’m using a bb sized blob and q-tipping after one big rip. I am wasting some product, but every rip is tasty. Also, the banger stays super...

Thanks, all. I’ve really been enjoying it. It’s great to admire after a dab or two.

    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

I’ve been busy this weekend on the 3 ton Dabpress. Top jar is Jack Herer #8. 6g in, 1.5g out for 25% first press. This was 2min 15sec at 190F. Came out a really nice super citrusy flavor. Bottom left is Jet Fuel. 3.5g in, .8g out for 22.9% first press. 3min at 195F. Nice consistency, but man...

    Dabpress Rosin Plates

Nice. Sounds like you are on the right track. My experience is similar to yours with doubling the parchment, especially on the repress. Nothing worse than seeing half your rosin bubbling on the plates because of a tear. Do you mind linking to the work table you got?

    Dabpress Rosin Plates

Here are my recent presses. First pic is Sour Amnesia on the left and Skywalker on the right. I was inspired by @jracerx who posted about leaving the rosin in a jar on the warm plates after the press to get some nucleation. Those two I lowered the plate temp to 120F and let them sit, cap on...

    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

I pressed some Bruce Banner recently that looked awesome and was labeled at 31%, but pretty mild on flavor and odor. It pressed super light colored butter and tasted kind of generically sweet, but it kicks my ass in a similar way - bit of a head trip. I wondered if it was high thc/low terpenes?

    Dabpress Rosin Plates

I am working under the assumption the rosin that drips has the best chance at terpene retention. As you said, I also notice it’s a hair lighter than what stays on the plates.

    Dabpress Rosin Plates

Right on. Some of the jar tech stuff seemed too involved for me, but letting rosin warm on the plates after the press seems easy enough and worth some experimenting.

    Dabpress Rosin Plates

Nice. Never occurred to me to play around with some post processing on the warm plates. What kind of consistency are you getting leaving them to warm on the plates?

    Dabpress Rosin Plates

Thanks man. I had typed up a long reply several days ago, but I never got around to finishing it and now it looks like I didn’t save it. I still have some different approaches I want to try out, but I have found most of the commonly suggested techniques here are a great place to start as...

    Dabpress Rosin Plates

I always seem to press on Friday nights. It’s a nice way to unwind from the week. Throw on some tunes and I’m in business. This is the result of the last eighth of some Gorilla Glue I got back in November. Pressed darker than before, but it didn’t lose any of its really nice flavor. Pressed at...

Yeah the retti has nice pastel colors that I like a lot. It’s actually just under 7”. It’s on the smaller end, but big enough to balance the enail just fine. I’m happy with the performance, too. It’s surprisingly smooth for a two-hole diffy. Be careful with that GAS. I wasn’t in the market for...

    Concentrates for Noobs - Q&A

Interesting. I’ll have to try some dryer herb. I’ve been using Bovedas since before I got a press. I’ve just kindof taken it as gospel. Side note: this question was meant for the rosin thread.

    Concentrates for Noobs - Q&A

I know it’s not agreed upon by everyone, but I swear Boveda packs do something to mute the terps in some herb. I’m thinking about finding another way to bring my herb up to pressing humidity. Any ideas? How about those terra cotta looking things that RAW sells that you can soak and keep in a jar?
