Really sorry you are having such a bad experience. Were you able to use a TCR#'ed Slot M1 ? 315 If you use the Ni setting (it's not Ni Wire) way to hot & inconstant. The TCR # will allow to use the 40 watt setting & it will level off at 18-22 to maintain temp. Wish I had your setup in my hand...
