I just remembered that René told me a while back that we actually already have a box - the vapman lighter box! You can fit the lighter, vapman (with the detached mouthpiece) and have some space to spare. It's not waterproof, but it works. They are also working on a Tin box with the foam...

Hey Chip, I'm so glad that the station worked out for you so well, and I'm happy thta your wife is appreciating better night sleep as well thanks to the new silent procedure. If the wife ain't happy, no one in the house is happy! Has using the station made you change your lighter technique...

OK, it is as I thought. A little residue left over. It was not really bad, so I took one with the flash to exaggerate it. You really can't tell that much without the flash, but with the flash it looks horrible. I wouldn't worry about it though.

@utekai, This is what I do. Small, tight circles, like you said, so I don't end up heating the wood around the crucible any more than usual. I observe the same thing: more even extraction. @RUDE BOY, It seems that the VS1 is teaching people to fine-tune their torch skills, and this is...

Hey farmer, I like the simplicity of it and bamboo is my favorite wood. Great job. It's a DIY mouthpiece adapter that anyone can make. Do they sell the silicone tubing in the hardware store? I haven't checked.

I know that Toronto is in Canada, but I know that René ships to Canada a lot so I thought he got a better shipping price. He ships free on orders over $75 (if I remember right) to Canada as well. It costs me $25 to ship Priority Mail to Canada... @stroonz, you can also torch the stainless...

vapman.com ships to Canada. Shipping for a lighter from US to Canada is stupid expensive.

Ok, speaking of Mica vs Basic... I got a request to make a Dark Chocolate Mica vapman. I don't know why, but this idea hadn't even crossed my mind, so I'm real grateful for the inspiration! I did it, and this new vapman version is going to ship soon to a good guy who had a great new idea. :D...

I was debating between a Lotus and a vapman way back when and ended up going with the vapman because it seemed much smaller (the Lotus was like a pipe), but the tipping point for me was that I didn't like to have to head and draw at the same time. I understand that this may be both a plus-point...

I'll test it right now and let you know. Please hold... Done - no residue whatsoever with the hardware store acetone. But note: the first time, I got a bit of residue, so I cleaned the cup really well (with acetone haha) and the second time it came out clear: Here's the brand I have:

I like crucible because of the same reasons that René mentioned, but mostly because of the Alchemy connection - even if it's not real or correct. @OF, you definitely give us the very knowledgeable and clear technical information on many important points related to the vapman, materials and...

Magic: http://www.levity.com/alchemy/vessel.html The Crucible is essentially an open vessel, a dish, a mortar, or a cauldron, open to the outside world yet capable of containing material. Substances and energy patterns can be put into the crucible and be acted upon by some agent, and some part...

Crucible is also a classic Alchemical term, meaning, where the Alchemist makes the magic happen. Terence McKenna would be proud, since he loved to spin Alchemical yarn. I belive that @steama is the one who christened it the Crucible, and I like this much better than pan or bowl... Remember...
