I would say that it probably matters how close you want the flame to your face, but I have the Jhook set so I can use my glass with it. So that's more of an assumption.

Its not a stupid idea to ask for opinions. Who knows, maybe someone has had a similar experience. It just seemed to me like it was more of a medical situation and I wasn't sure if you talked to a doctor yet. I hope everything turns out fine.

I don't think you're going to get the answer your looking for here. If you have a nickel allergy, and you suspect that it's causing alergic reaction, you may either want to talk to a doctor to make sure that's what's going on. Or maybe stop using the lotus until it goes away, then use it to see...

The lotus is pretty inexpensive as is. I just bought mine from the website. I've used a couple torch lighters with mine, including the one from the website. They all worked, just have to adjust the flame until you hit a sweet spot. It's not difficult.

I would like it if lotus released special edition's, with limited edition colors and design's. At the price point I would buy more.
