I did state "in violation of DISTRIBUTOR agreements", but that could be easy to overlook, so thanks for making this more clear. :)
[But I don't think it is *manufactures* that sell in violation of their own agreements, as that would then be an authorized sale. And some *indeed do* legit business...
And Massdrop has a history of selling grey-market vapes. When they do this, it is against the manufacturer's terms and will violate any warrantee.
I'd check first with the manufacturer to ensure it is legit before putting any cash down.
I know in the past (with the Ascent and a few other...
I'm with @Madcap79 in the fact I'll start with the low temps. (Sometimes going even lower if I have some flower that is particularly tasty and I want to savor the flavor.) Like @lazylightning, however, I usually top out around 390°F. (in part because benzene, but more about that burnt popcorn...
JUST TO BE CLEAR: I used the term "scam" in the previous posts to reflect some of our user's feelings. I am not saying it is one... just that it is a possibility some people feel.
My opinion is just that they simply over-promised but it wasn't intentional mis-leading. ("Never attribute to...
My take is with this (seeing a few vape launches from the "inside") is either:
1. They need the extra $$$ to get this thing out the door. Making a new vape isn't easy, even for an experienced company, and it can be sometime long after the product is on market before one is in the black, no...
Ah. I did indicate I wasn't sure on this, but you are right that their was some participation here (I had to look it up: user @Zenpen ). But it was almost a year ago since their last post and it looks like they haven't even lurked since Oct.
In the last (essentially) year the "updates" have...
And what exactly do you think a thread candidate is? Are you hanging out the same FC as the rest of us?
:p
EDIT: And as to the idea of locking down a thread to only the manufacturer until product release, well... FC isn't a publicist publishing press releases. If the information makes it here...
It is because no one actually has one (outside of the company) and thus all there is to do is make wild speculations, talk about boxes, complain about shipping slips, and fail to read even the previous page (let alone the last 10-20) before posting the same questions over and over again...
Just as an FYI: Every single Herbie is hand-calibrated on its way from assembly to its new home.
That being said, each one should be dialed in and on-point. But there is the "hand" part of "hand-calibrated" which could mean either the calibration itself was off, or the calibration didn't...
People should be looking for local-sourcedly free-range hand-picked pesticide-free fair-trade artisnal all-cotton spheres...
:P
I think the issue here is not so much the "organic" part, but the "cotton" part, and the term "organic" is a pretty good indicator that there isn't other stuff in...

Nope. Either you taste it or you don't. [SEE: previous statement about individual perceptions/proclivities.] Not "fooling yourself." Some of us just don't like it. The rest of us scratch our head and think the "other" us weird.
I'm in the same boat. "All glass vapor...
Good points in your post, but slight clarification on my usage. I keep three Ascents around (four if you count the GF's), and one of them is for "other things" (ie, not MMJ) which includes EEBs and other herbs. So not just essential oils. I do experiment with quite a few other herbs, but I found...
I'm late on the temp discussion, as I just now caught up on the thread but a few points:
IR devices are not the tool to use here. (For reasons stated and others.)
Whenever I get hands on a new vape to play with, I'll usually measure it right out for performance.
I will load a bowl with ABV...
From some of the early manufacturer comments, and one of the pre-release videos, there was specific mention of two shut-down timers: One is the user set timer, and the other a "motion" sensor. (Three is one included the user-settable multi-step temp program.)
There was some discussion about...
It's pretty much my daily driver. Most of the time I want a session. And there's something very contemplative about holding a warm Ascent, sipping away for half an hour or more.
(I'll switch up when I want a different experience, or want a quick event.)
+2 Gold Stars for reading a thread...
I'm with Ratchett here, with the exception of sometimes starting even lower. Keep going until flavor is pretty well tapped, then jump to 365°F and get a whole new range at that point.
Then I'll dump into a <366°F container for any late night nightcaps I may want. :)
I have a 9,900 mAh battery pack, so nothing shocking there.
Of course, mine is larger than a deck of playing cards. And *obviously* you missed their previous Indiegogo/Kickstarter/etc for the Shink-o-ray™...
:P
THat video gets a Like if for nothing else the "*cough* *cough* woooo... FUCKIN' @Ratchett!"
:)
SImple solution: Buy a few more pads and a few balloons.
There, I helped!
There have been very few "overseas" buyers. A few that have, have had issues. One just needed a reset. One got melty...
"Yeah... this is my Bourbon-barrel Sour Diesel..."
:)
Hey, if they barrel-age beers, why not?
My main concern with ISO would be drying out and damaging the wood stem. But now that I think about it, wood can be porous and there will be some ISO left in the stem. Most likely it will evaporate...
Yeah, I keep giving away my JyARz to friends. BoGo's are my chance to re-stock mine (and give out a few more).
Love my JyARz!
Only complaint is... NEED BIGGER.
:)
(I need something between my c-vaults and my Satchmos.)
