Use the ball end on the poker tool and pack down your bowl a bit, so it's not so loose that it spirals up. Just try not to pack it down so much that it restricts airflow too much.

Well we know heat on the windowsill won't be a huge deal, considering most of us heat it up on the stove. I'd probably try on the windowsill in a amber or blacked out jar. That takes light out of the factor but you'll still get some heat.

I think I'm going to have to try the candy. I used way too much peppermint extract in my tincture. It tastes like mouthwash but it's pretty hot. I think I might try Lemon extract for my next batch.

also for a post straining treat, after I press as much out as I can, I put my spent abv in a steel tea ball and put that in a tall coffee cup with whole milk and a bag of green tea. I then pour boiling water in to top off the cup. And let it steep for 5 minutes.
