I havent tried log vapes myself and they are truly loved by alot of very experienced vaporists and definetly sounds like what you are looking for but as i have said before i honestly think the SSV will do what you need depending on how you use it.

Try getting a standard SSV heater cover and wand, it really helps with the stirring and keeping an eye on your herb aswell as giving you complete control of your vaping experience.
