Mine is scheduled for Friday as well! 😬 What you say does make some sense to me, but on BFG website the fusion is offered with both short stem and long stem and it seems only the long stem has the airport.

I do the exact same method. The only problem is you need some good thumb nails to push that o ring down and then when you're squishing the mouthpiece down onto the table yo make it flush, the o ring sometimes rolls or pinches. But I think it is the best method as well.
