Please use PM to request orders. Current inventory is all spoken for and making lists for new requests.
The current ordered units are already made and just awaiting the gauge.
Next run parts are in early ordering stages so will be a couple months before units can be assembled.
Expect the new...
No problem. The charger can take either line voltage but comes with a US plug so an adapter may be needed for your country.
This is a charger and will not "drive" the heater, only for charging the batteries which do the driving.
The setup uses standard 5.5X2.1mm connections.
Currently, only the...
Sounds very odd. Electrically, it can't really fail and still fire up.
Yes, please take pic of the cap penetration depth. If cap removed from bowl, it should rest with only 2-3 mils of cap to grab onto while inside the tube. Also, take a pic from the top of the glass tube looking down into it...
Yes, different than using a lighter, that's for sure. I think that since it heats up just the outside and quick that when inhaling you get an initial rush of exceptionally hot air. Found that if you pause for a second between removing from heater and inhaling, it helps. Gives time for some heat...
Ouch, yes, re-gluing isn't a problem but would use more JB-Quick Weld as usually holds best. Some ISO wiping of the unit first will let it adhere better.
The main concern is it isn't turning on by pressing the tactile switch.
Could you take a couple pics of the wiring side from a couple angles...
Looks good on paper. I'm not totally convinced the battery pack is going to fit as you hope. Maybe if sitting centered as that is a huge mug. But with it being a cylinder, you will run out of room moving towards the side very quickly. The best approach, which I was considering as well depending...
If no need for the gauge, I can make you up a unit pronto. Will continue in the PM.
Good question about where to get the glass tube. I was using the cut off ends of my Shitfucker vape pieces for this. Once this batch is cleared and moving forward, I too had been looking for a substitute. What I...
Now that what it's all about. Very cool idea. Not sure about fitting the battery pack into the mug. It's 60mm across so around 66mm measuring diagonally. If a 18650 cell will fit sideways, it's good to go.
The Skeletor will come apart for re-orienting easily. The double sided tape can be pried...
Who said anything about prepaid? Not my way. ;)
Payment due when ready to ship. But I do appreciate a quick payment when the time comes.
An update to Skeletor units. Once I receive the battery gauges, they will become part of the deal. Along with the addition of the Kill switch...
A quick update for those on the PS list.
Everything is done except final assembly. All the holes are made and just waiting on the battery gauges to arrive which could be any day. Just have to determine the best mounting location for it, but putting the modulars inside the case will be a quick...
Slow boat shipping... Hate it! You never know how many transfers may occur.
Could come tomorrow or another couple weeks. Not un-heard of at all, but a real pain when it's something you can't wait to get.
Hang in there.
Progress report.
All the main modulars are made and tested.
As are the battery holders with BMS wired in.
Along with the Enclosures and Kill switches.
Here is my updated Beta unit with the LEDs added. This is in a brightly lit kitchen.
It shows brighter in living room lighting...
A little production progress pic.
And here is the LED placement.
Keep in mind, you will only see the top mm or so.
Heading into the home stretch!
Hmm, must admit, didn't think about that.
The light isn't going to be bright enough to draw attention during the day or under modest lighting conditions. But in the evening it might.
Don't think there would be a whole lot of situations that this should be a problem though. The heater could be...
OK guys, my list for the Portside is now FULL.
The possibility of more batches will depend on how this batch fairs.
I received the enclosures yesterday and it was one unit shy. The carton was bashed up pretty bad from shipping and one corner ripped away and was taped back up. Suspect that's...
@emmdeemo, I think your pictures show a well set up mod. The fact that there is no charred pieces indicate this as well as you must run at lower vaping temps. First cleaning in a long time? Does look like the floor under my lathe.
That coil, OTOH, has seen some serious rebuilds. :haw...
Update on the Portside.
So sorry, but have another delay. In using it for a while, it became apparent that a battery gauge was really needed. So, I ordered these guys. Will be easy to mount as just need a small hole and double sided thin tape.
Those dang enclosures are still somewhere on route...
Nice vid Stu!
Thanks for the kind words @Alexis, it is a fulfilling hobby and helping folks out is always a warming benefit. :luv:
I've being working some more on the FAQ sheet you guys requested. It is in my signature by clicking the VC pic but here is a posted copy.
Let me know if any...
