Sorry if this has been asked before, but has anyone traveled with the MFLB? I'm flying to NYC and wondering if it's worth it to give my box an alcohol bath and toss it in my check through luggage.

Get it. You'll use it way more than the Iolite. I haven't fired mine up once since getting the MFLB.

All these reasons and the fact that you can see (with the glass or acrylic stems) the vapor leaving the trench, which can be very handy when deciding how fast or slow to draw. Native mode is great, but I tend to use a clear stem for these very reasons.

Agreed. You'd be hard pressed to find a company with better customer service than Magic Flight. Send it back. The unit has a lifetime warranty. I'm sure they'll replace it without even batting an eye.

That has come up before, but it's a long thread so it bears repeating. The lack of a hash mark on the dial is problematic. I'd expect MF to start adding one at some point. Until then what I'd do is put a little red nail polish on the switch when it's in the "off" position and use that as a guide.

I have yet to get one, but I'm sure, as with any similar analogue switch, there's variation from example to example. Therefore, any advice you get here about exactly where to dial it to is going to be less meaningful than your direct experience with your specific PA. I'd start low and dial it up...

Yeah, my second LB has the latch and I'm very impressed with it. It clicks the box shut very convincingly. I wasn't expecting it to be so robust.

That's one of my main techniques as well. Depress the battery, hold until the vapor fills the stem, draw on the box (slowly!) until the vapor production drops off, shake (while continuing to hold the battery in) and draw again. I can get massive hits doing this. One of the keys to using the...

I've bought two MFLBs, both from Blissville and I've never gotten that much stuff with them. Both had three batteries with battery caps, two rubber bands and one brush. How did you end up getting twice as much as "normal?"

I like the acrylic stem better too, actually. But ultimately, either one is fine. Both are easily cleaned, and if you have problems cleaning them you can always go with "native mode."

I use a finer grind and fill the trench just a touch fuller than your snap.
