Did you try using the vortex cap's shaft to clean the buildup out of the chimney? I found that once it builds up the gunk fouls the flavor. The cap's shaft fits perfectly to clean that stuff with a twist.

There really is no voodoo to the stem size. The joint is a 19/22. The other standard is 19/28. This means 19mm diameter with a taper length of 22mm. The taper length is what is important. It needs to be accurate. If it bottoms out before a good seal is made it is no Bueno.

I'm speaking for the Zion and TOD there is a very small air intake hole 1/8". You can't really see in there.

I have tried it in several different configurations. I don't have the dry MP but I have adaptors that let me attach a whip or any WP. I'll have to try it dry some more.

I did indeed break my bowl on the Herb Nail by being careless. But to replace it was only $60. The money is in the coils with Errlectric. When using my Herbnail, I set the temp to around 750-800 and never see the coil go red. The vapor is true convection with this basic design. Very tasty...
