If your backed came apart and had backend heat issues it sounds like it was a little messed up from the start. Only on hot days or from a cold start do I notice a hot backend, and I unscrew and play with the backend a little. It'd be a longshot... but you could try asking HL for a warranty :(...

Tamp it down a teensy bit and you should notice that problem severely reduced! I noticed this for a long time, and recently noticed that when it's too loose that is prone to happen. A pinch enough to tamp down a little has yet to make my screen dirty since last I cleaned it (last week).

@Bass Vaper How much do you pack in? I only notice difficult draw resistance when I overpack it. The past 2 or 3 days I have been putting way less in. Now I will only get maybe 3 draws out of a bowl before it's toast and need to repack, rather than when I would pack in a TON and maybe get 5-7...

I think the backend is generally pretty sturdy. Since I've been pushing down gently and twisting it seems to have gotten much smoother. Also, I've twisted the dial from 1 to 5 and back many times in succession. It was without worry.

These are all symptoms of a malfunctioning Grasshopper. 1 battery for 1 bowl on temperature 2 is not normal, and this sounds like you have not had the Hopper for over two months (iirc it is your friends?). Either way, I would begin to inquire GHL for warranty, as it would be worth 3-5 days...

I do this exact thing with scooping herb in the Grasshopper and using the mouthpiece. Works wonders, possibly the easiest way to pack it.

Is it safe to charge one battery? It says the i4 defaults at 750 mAh for one battery, which is the same amount as the Hopper battery, but the manual recommends charging 2 batteries at a time for smaller ones.... I don't know much of anything beyond voltage, and never learned about mAhs and how...
