I have a spare regular cap that I use on my 2020 when I want it to hit more like my 2019. Wish I still had my 2018 to compare.

My experience has been that the captive cap seems to increase air flow. Regular cap = mouthpull styles. My go to when hitting it straight. Captive cap = Open port. My main squeeze on a water piece.
