The serial number will be located near the bar code on the box. The unit being sold by an unauthorized dealer does not mean it is a fake, it just means no warranty. We have yet to come across any Ascent clones.

Sounds like the "?AA1" rubbed off the bowl of your unit. The packaging would be the only way to tell your serial number then. When your unit was brand new, was the "AA1" also missing?

The Ascent logo and the packaging received its copyright in 2013. A new Ascent will have the same copyright on it. You can tell the year of the Ascent by the serial number: 1AA1- 2013 2AA1- 2014 3AA1- 2015

Should be totally ok. I've used the 14mm water tool paired with an F-bomb many of times. I've actually broken more F-bombs than water tools haha.

I've seen it done and its very troublesome and you need new parts after you do it. We made sure there is no way to take apart the Ascent and put it back together yourself. We'll see how creative these guys get though.

Please do not replace the batteries by yourself in the Ascent. If you don't use the proper batteries and don't set it up correctly it could be dangerous. (fire, shortage, won't power on, and many other things that can happen if you don't know about batteries) We have an out of warranty repair...
