To clarify, are you saying you see vapor coming out of the mouthpiece when you're heating the unit up after first turning it on? If so, that surprises me. I've definitely seen a little vapor leak during use, but always assumed it was vapor I had already pulled into the cooling chamber. I don't...

The small MiniVAP basket holds the herb and snaps into the bottom of flexicone plus. When you mate the flexicone plus with the heating unit, the basket stays suspended in the heating chamber. If you do a search in the thread for "convection," you'll see there are a few people who like to use it...

I like that lol! So, here's the interesting thing. Until I got my Crafty, I would have agreed 100% with the obvious superiority of pure convection. But the Crafty really changed my tune on this, as it apparently relies on some small amount of conduction to get the job done, and the flavor is...

You can pack a pinch, but you will probably need to tamp it down with either the liquid pad or (my preferred method) a cut screen. In terms of vapor, I find the Crafty delivers bigger, more flavorful hits than most vaporizers, but it takes fewer hits to cash the bowl. The remarkable thing...

The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

I always use a screen on top to tamp down the herb. Particularly on half loads, I find this greatly increases the density and flavor of the vapor. It also keeps things cleaner. I cut the screen halfway across to make it easier to take out when I'm done.

That's a really interesting question. I don't know the answer for sure, but I personally turn the unit off. I mean, that's what the auto-shut off is going to do regardless, right? I actually think you answered your own question -- and rather eloquently! A "main driver" is the vape you use day...

The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

If that's your concern, I say go for it. I have the latest Mighty and an older Crafty. Both seem to behave exactly the same in terms of minor temperature fluctuation. It has no discernible effect on the auto-shutoff or battery life, and both deliver vapor on par with, or superior to, anything...

Are you using a screen on top of the herb to keep it tamped down/compressed? Also, have you tried a slightly higher temperature? I get better results at 374F.

The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

This really is the part that amazes me about the Mighty (and Crafty). The only other vape I've had that did this was my original MiniVAP. In terms of taste, the Mighty is maybe a half step below the original MV, but as good or better than anything else I've tried (including my replacement MV)...

Right, I was curious if there was some reason why you (and others) used the liquid pad instead of the cut screen. It seems to me the cut screen has all of the advantages and none of the drawbacks of the liquid pad for this purpose. Or am I missing something? Anyway, sorry the Mighty didn't...

Welp, my minivap appears to be on its last legs, so I've taken the Mighty plunge. Bought directly from S&B to ensure I get the most recent model. I already own a Crafty, so I've got an idea what to expect. But I am curious, are there any differences I should be aware of in terms of usage?

Out of curiosity, is there some reason you guys aren't using a half-cut screen to tamp down the material? Just a heads up, if you cut the screen halfway across, it works just as well and you don't need to use a sewing needle.

    MiniVAP Vaporizer

I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing this issue. When I turn on my minivap, the battery light quickly drops from green to yellow (or from yellow to red). The unit fails to heat up and the temperature light just keeps blinking until I reset by pulling the battery. Sometimes, it takes...

@mmafighterthe25, you still packing the chamber directly? IIRC, I got the idea from you.

I currently have the teflon core with the new heater and latest firmware. I previously had the glass core with the new heater. And before that, I had the teflon core with the old heater. IMO, the models with the new heater run differently than the old models, which is why I use them differently...

Your call, obviously. But smaller loads work great for me this way, and I personally haven't encountered any maintenance issues after switching to this method. Keep in mind, I'm someone who always used the baskets on my old unit, and tried them on my new unit at first. Honestly, you should see...

    MiniVAP Vaporizer

@Edwardo: I feel you. The flip side of that, though, is most other vaporizers have risk, too. I mean, there are exceptions like the Volcano, which has been around forever. But I find balloons a non-starter personally, and most of the other top-rated alternatives have issues, too. I had to send...

I do. The newer models do preheat more quickly, so you can get clouds after the light stops blinking (usually around 5 minutes). After a lot of experimenting, however, I find preheating for longer on a lower temp creates the optimal conditions for flavor and cloudage. Higher temps tend to burn...

    MiniVAP Vaporizer

@lwien, you shouldn't be getting wispy hits. MiniVAP delivers the biggest hits of any vaporizer I've ever used by far. However, there is a small learning curve. Don't worry, you'll get it. I preheat mine on pink/purple (one step above blue) for ten minutes. I get huge clouds immediately. You...

    MiniVAP Vaporizer

@lwien, if you're using it dry, try packing the chamber directly. I find that delivers the best taste with the newer models, and I haven't had much problem with mess. I pack the chamber with herb, then place the small basket on top as a cap to keep the material in place. In this configuration...
