    next generation e-nails?

hmm, looks like a 10mm coil bent up at the end. I shouldn't even comment on the shape of that other piece, LOL. It's a cool idea though. I do have a nectar collector style rig, I was hoping to NOT have a reason to buy a 10mm coil...haha. I might have one now. You know, I didn't even think of...

    next generation e-nails?

Lol, I'll gladly point you to a few if you'd like to see what I'm talking about...the one I wanted was like $250...There's entire enail rigs that cost less than that, haha. As for tuning the PID on your PC - that's exactly what I've been doing with mine. It's not an arduino though, you just...

    next generation e-nails?

Ah, so that is the traditional PID code right there! It seems fuzzy code may be possible too, check this out, this guy made a fuzzy-logic controlled heating urn with arduino: http://www.hownottoengineer.com/projects/fuzzy-urn.html I can't imagine what he's doing should be all that much...

    next generation e-nails?

Yeah, I mean making a PID out of the arduino, something that can do proper control loops. A simple on/off control when it hits a particular temperature, while it might work, isn't going to be great, and certainly will not be a greater product than a proper PID, or something fancier than a PID...

    Happy Daddy Genesis System Discussion

fwiw, my normal dabbing temp on the genesis with the quartz insert is 750f. for cleaning, you can take it 1000f+ no problem, but I usually torch it. It will discolor it if you torch it, but ive torched it so much now that i just stopped caring. I actually was torching it before I ever got my...

    next generation e-nails?

so do you have arduino code for doing PID loops? Anything for doing fuzzy logic / predictive control? I was looking into using a controller with fuzzy logic abilities but most of them are $200-300 for the PID alone, arduino might be a cheaper way to get those more advanced control methods...

    next generation e-nails?

Ya, it seems your observation is very similar to mine then. My other one is indeed the hive, I wouldn't say it's dramatically different in terms of function or anything, it's just the same situation where the barrel coil version has to run slightly hotter than the flat nail version. I think...

    next generation e-nails?

oh really? I'm using flat coil, so 650f is indeed too hot then...I had already reduced to 625f, so most people are using 600f then? No wonder I thought it was too hot...I have a tendency to start too hot and work my way down when I get a new nail...I'm used to using my flat coil @ 750f on my...

    Happy Daddy Genesis System Discussion

i thought about the whole flower thing some more, I bet if you purposely left the carb cap on to get hot, lifted it off real quick to drop some herb on and put it back, then inhaled, it would probably work somewhat to pre-heat the air coming in through the holes in the carb cap.....may work...

    next generation e-nails?

BTW, what temp are people running their domeless.com w/the new carb cap at ? I've been using it at 650f but I can't help but feel it might be slightly too hot.

i've still not tried that....I can't see it really being much different than sticking dry herbs into any other nail? Probably have to turn the temp down a bit so it doesn't combust.

Here's some pictures of mine... Of course I really should have taken a picture of the bottom of the bowl area...its basically threaded, but anything coming down from the 3 holes from the top part will drip down onto the titanium piece below (which is the piece above it in the photo). That...

    next generation e-nails?

Just got mine as well! Man this thing is pretty cool, I really do like this whole "perma-carb-cap" idea.

    next generation e-nails?

so. speaking of next-gen stuff.... how would people feel about a battery-powered nail? It would still use 16mm/20mm/flat style coils, but they would be special DC versions of those coils (the 24v DC versions as seen on gimido and some other sites). is there any serious interest in something...

    The Voltage Keeper

Battery chargers are on the way now too, and the batteries finally cleared customs, we're getting there! I'm hoping I get the first batch of batteries this week, and I have a second set coming as well with enough to hopefully have extra for one or two more battery units. Needless to say, these...

    next generation e-nails?

yeah ceramic seems good out of the box usually, which is one nice thing about it. it does clean up pretty well too - although the first time I cleaned it I was being super-extra-cautious, I always worry about cracking ceramic more than I ever do my quartz, it always seemed so much more fragile...

    next generation e-nails?

I have heard people say you don't need to season quartz, but I definitely say you do. it will eventually develop a coating over time that won't come off with torching and scraping, but you can make it happen sooner if you burn off a bunch of BHO on it, lol...not that I recommend you waste good...

    next generation e-nails?

See my previous post from the last page where I mentioned the flaws...And to answer the ohter question I was asked, I have not tried it with flower, it's been so long since I've even had any flower to be brutally honest. All dabs all the time for me these days... I'm using a controller I built...

    next generation e-nails?

I hope you enjoy it! It's got it's flaws but i still love it. Here's a teaser of what I'm doing with it right now....you can also see my two custom carb caps for it...(one's also for the minigenesis in the background, that's my portable rig back there) Graphing my dabs, lol...I wish I could...

    next generation e-nails?

heh, I noticed domeless.com has got the one in stock without the side slots again....and that cool new carb cap...I did say I wanted to try a flat style ceramic still didn't I? lol, I just bought one. that video didn't help, heh. I couldn't resist...I gotta try that new carb cap. I'm a damn...
