They're coming! Here's a teaser of the first two from above completed (the two on the right in the photo above)

    The Voltage Keeper

Just wanted to give another update for everyone waiting...The remaining battery shipment is here and I've now got all the parts in stock for all the current orders, battery or otherwise. That said, I'm wrapping up the battery units as we speak, and it won't be much longer now! As well, I'll...

glad to know that about the adapter, I was honestly tempted to get one to see if it worked any better but it sounds like the flat coil I'm using is likely the most optimal setup already. what temps are you running at now? I've still using it at 717f, and always with the quartz.

    next generation e-nails?

I personally can't stand carbcaps with huge holes, except if it has the hole at the top you can cap with your finger like you were saying. I like there to be nearly a vacuum, if I want an airgap, I'll lift the cap slightly. I've actually plugged up holes in carbcaps with pieces of silicon tubing...

It's a custom order indeed! Glad to hear you got it, I noticed the tracking said it arrived! It's certainly repeatable, though I really need to stop using the knobs I bought for my modular synth. He got one of my fancier brass-collared moog knobs, those are the ones I actually put on my...

    The Voltage Keeper

Here's a first. Top mount works unit! I never knew if top mount would fit in a works in the standard case, but as you can see here, it fits just fine! This one also has the moog knob instead of the locking vernier...which is still a custom option that I am trying not to make a habit of...I'm...

i think the difference is, when you heat it with a torch, it's potentially much, much, hotter, and you heat up a larger portion of it. With the enail, and low temp dabbing, it's not going to retain as much, especially not after taking a dab. i definitely notice 8-10f drop, where as on my quartz...

I've been using mine at 717 lately....slightly lower temp myself. it needs to warm up for a good 5-10 minutes before use, for sure. It seems slightly lower temps are no problem as long as you are patient and wait for the heat to fully distribute its way around. I've been using my prototype...

    The Voltage Keeper

Yours will actually be the first in that combo! No pictures of that one yet though. I've just completed the first round of testing with the battery chargers, and it' looking pretty good so far! I'll post some pictures of the batch of completed units as I get them wrapped up & tested. I have...

    next generation e-nails?

No doubt it was pretty tight, I pretty much had to wire it up before I put the PID in place, and pushed as much as I could under or out of the way of the PID, it's realllly long. I normally can fit a switch and a circuit breaker in that same case, but not on this one. Even that fuse holder was...

    The Voltage Keeper

Oh yeah...the battery chargers came today! A day late from the tracking, but I won't complain given how fast they got them here from overseas. I'm testing them now with an uncharged set of the new batteries and so far it seems to be working nicely and doing as it should, regulating the charge...

    next generation e-nails?

I can't even believe I'm still awake, I've literally just spend the last 4-5 hours straight making this... needless to say, this thing has a ton of options and I've finally got it setup correctly and autotuning and my initial impressions are good....really good in fact. I'm using 20%...

    next generation e-nails?

oh man, i was surprised by a little package on my doorstep today. the fuzzy logic PID I got off ebay is here. it does have the mounting bracket and condition it looks practically brand new, not even a scratch, though i did see some dirt and dust on it, so it probably was used at some point. for...

    The Voltage Keeper

Some even more exciting news...the first 4 sets of batteries are here, and I did my initial time trial. I got just over 4 hours with the VK attached to a HI set at 11.75v. Yay! Needless to say, I'm quite happy with that result. I already have another 3 sets of the same batteries on the way...

which omron controller are you referring that's $345 retail? the e5cc's seem to be available for cheap $50-60ish, new, all over, regardless of the supposed retail price...but I have not found any e5gc's for cheap, those are all $200+ new. I have started to wonder if the cheap e5cc's everywhere...

    next generation e-nails?

so, after all that talk about fuzzy logic controllers, I found one on ebay that normally retails for $345 for about $60 and it's got the extra serial interface option which is the bonus...I still don't know if it will even have any of the mounting brackets or heck, even work at all, but I guess...

How'd you ever fair with it? I just switched back to my genesis after going ceramic again for a week. Main thing I'm noticing is that I was cleaning the ceramic a lot more, and that the ceramic seemed to be fowling up the odor a lot once it got dirty....the genesis will get dirty eventually...

    next generation e-nails?

no, the hive is too wide to fit the domeless carb cap. I usually use a regular glass-style carb cap with it. btw, regarding that portable nail that needs to be plugged in - I mentioned before briefly that I could potentially build a REAL, proper, battery powered nail that uses coils. However...

    next generation e-nails?

I was thinking of doing something like this, though you could just be lazy and make it a separate unit, maybe just use something like this, remote control and timer in one: http://www.amazon.com/NuGiant-34000-Wireless-Remote-Control/dp/B004C1Q8PO The one nice thing about having a timer built...

Well, I normally run it with the flat coil at 750f. I have not tried it with the barrel, but my experience with flat vs barrel in other nails has shown that it's usually add another 50-80f for a barrel. I'd try around 800-830f maybe. Also, wait a good 3-5 minutes after your nail says it's...
