I think they meant that the actual metal part is hot. I can't get past 5 consecutive hits without fear of burning myself on the metal, but holding the glass immediately adjacent to the hot WPA is no problem for me.

For the aluminum stem, I just chuck it in tupperware with isopropyl alcohol. You could do the same with the WPA.

Yes I do. I heat the plate for around 5 or 6 seconds, then inhale slowly while keeping the flame near the middle. The plate is usually nicely red, not too bright in the center though.

Yeah man, I got 4 of these "basic" Honest lighters, they all work fine. They sputter sometimes, but for like $2 per lighter, I can deal with it.

My roommate has an EQ in his room. I prefer my Lotus WPA set up for sessions with the dude simply because of the incredible heat up time. EQ bags for parties, Lotus for less than 4 people.

Sorry, I do not own a Vaponic. I heard that fact from Linda's youtube channel (weedandbombs), and IIRC, I think the creator of Vaponic also said this in his demo video. I believe the heat time with a torch is about 30 seconds. I would imagine that you should at least double the heating time...

OP, the Vaponic can also use bic lighters. Just use the blue flame to heat, not the yellow. Certainly helps with the weight minimization. Bics would just add more soot on the glass, but that really doesn't matter since you could wipe it off.
