@starchild Yes, you want to cool the oil down after every rip. That usually solves the leaking problem. Also, try storing the Hercules on its side when it isn't in use.

I got rid of my screen almost immediately and it eliminated the clogging problem. Slow and light draws work best. As for getting oil in the bottom chamber, it's usually a matter of needing to do longer cooling draws after each hit. Good luck!

How old is your Persei? That used to be common with the original Persei tops because they were designed before the Herc was ever a thought. If you have a warranty, they will send you one of the latest tops which have fixed the problem.
