I figured 6.2v for the white SR74 rod to perform like the 3.7v black rod, however I recall Gary talking about how the resistance changes with heat, so this is only true if both rods exhibit the same non-linearity ;)

Any tips for the SR-74 metal top cap not getting gunked up threads? I clean the threads pretty well with ISO any time I take it off, but makes me worry about not taking it off for a while and it getting really stuck. Seems the oil wicks right up the thread no matter what.

I ordered my sidecirc directly from SM55 just a few days before that drop ended and got the version with the small opening in the mouthpiece. That small hole makes it very hard to clean (and I like to clean continuously), but it really does help the draw for the vxnail. I don't like using it...
