Noticing the same thing with the 1701 about the hard draw to get more vapor, but it seems to add a lot of splash. In the KISS base, there are two air holes. If you plug one of these, you only have to draw half as hard to get similar effect :)

I've heard that SCS has switched to a slightly less fine screen than the version I have because of users complaining that it doesn't collect enough kief. While what comes through the screen isn't 6* full-melt dry sift, it does come through much cleaner than what I've seen in other grinders...
