I contacted the department of Fair Trading specifically about the Mighty vapouriser and got a response in writing from them that the batteries are covered under the two year warranty if the unit is sold in Australia. I don't deal with Bickel and Storz. I deal directly with my retailer.

One of our German members has posted that the batteries are covered by warranty in Germany as they are in Australia. Depends on the particular countries consumer protection laws.

Under Austalian consumer law all goods must be of merchantable quality. I just tell my awesome retailer that the unit has broken down again and that I would like a refund.

Do what I do and just buy a new one outright when the first unit fails. When I receive the replacement I send the first unit back for a full refund.

You don't return the cooling units. You keep them and they send you a new one with every warranty return. I have never touched the oven in my heating units and have returned multiple units.
