Yeah I have loss of coating on button and stem , already stripped one down looks like other one will be getting same treatment too! I also am of the belief heat and oils from fingers/hands at bare.minimum doesn't help coating to stay on.

I thought we had all agreed “hot water” is a no no! When mine started to flake I was rinsing with hot water. I think in the big Manual it even says soak in iso; rinse in cold water. IME stay away from hot water!

Thats how I do it , long stem doesn’t get hot, short stem does on higher settings but doesn’t get hot enough that I had to quit use. I can’t see spending $25 US for shipping for a $10 mouthpieces. I also have had not cut off engage without stem....not once!
