If you’re referring to the exterior wood, I always use my Underbutter, Bomb Ass Butter or Phatpiggie butter...they’re all beeswax/mineral oil blends. All of my wood vapes love the stuff. Butcher block conditioner from the hardware store works great also.

I’ll chime in here re hot spots. I think hot spots are dependent on multiple factors, but I notice them the most when I try to pack to much. I suggest trying a full bowl, just lightly tamped, with a nice fluffy grind. It appears, IMHO, that the tighter packs create denser pockets of available...

I have gotten good results from all of my stems...I have a short and long XL8R’s, short and long plain and colored glass, and three wooden stems from @Alan Even in my Elites I only use wattage mode. It is just so fundamentally simple, I’ve not had the desire to fool with all of the TC stuff.

On wood or glass, just a tiny amount. Doesn’t melt, just enough lubricity to keep things from sticking. I’ve been using RBT gear for 3 years, now use it with my Iheat and my Lil’Buds also.

I’m the one with the missing battery floor....just a minor annoyance. Bottom line, this thing rocks! I already have a Walnut that I got off of the FC classifieds. Now a Cherry...truly a functional gem of a vape. They have quickly become my go-to vapes for home use.

I’m above 40 on some of my mods....so many variables here...grind, moisture content, individual technique. Keep on bumping it up a watt at a time. And don’t be afraid to stir!

Interesting footnote to my evening. Back from rehearsal, and I break out one of my convection vapes that I packed (a L’il Bud Elite)...too much work when not at home. Solution? Break out a pre-loaded VC. Add 2 high gravity IPA’s. Boom:cheers:

I currently have 8 M’s (2 17’s, 2 18’s, 2Shadows and 2 sandblasted). They stay assembled and ready to go out. I have around 6 OG’s and a few extra bods. Now we get serious. 16 Ti tips and about 30 stems from DV, @phattpiggie and @Ed's TnT . The whole kit lives in an old oriental jewelry case in...

Tell you a little secret....get a month or so of everyday use on that stem, then drop those balls (take it to the out of context thread already) into some whole milk and bring it to a near boil simmer....add some cocoa and have an evening of great contemplation....

I have a wonderfull set of stems from @phattpiggie that have no airport. I have one twist with airport that is stem length, but the rest all have built in condensers w/o an airport. They are all just amazing both functionally and artistically.
