The Qaroma is quartz and seems to work, probably because quartz conducts heat better than glass. But it is precisely machined to fit in the coil just right. If you have a coil then just try it, if the glass pieces are not too expensive. You could find a piece that happens to fit just right.

Graveda.de just told me their €90 coil/PID kit will be available "mid-March". I am getting a coil for testing and definitely not messing with China electronics for this. You wait almost a month to get something that might not work, just to save a few bucks- not worth it.

Well, yes, that is what I mean: the glass inevitably gets hot if it touches the hot injector for a while, and heats up the herb and the air inside the chamber. If you only apply the injector on the bowl while inhaling, and then immediately remove it, this won't happen. Heat rises with hot air...

Well, if you leave it on the bowl the heat will travel down the glass and create a hot chamber, in the name of the laws of thermodynamics! It's not enough to vaporize by itself but enough to pre-heat the material for faster vaporisation :)

You would have to leave the hot injector attached to the loaded bowl for a minute or more before inhaling so it is not feasible with all systems. Some of the heat travels down to the glass and then heats up your herb, so when you inhale you get an instant blast of vapor. Probably best to start...

You could make one out of a 19mm downstem if you have a way to cut glass but probably not worth the trouble. This thing hits hard anyway so you may not need the extra bore :lol:
