Mine's very quiet as well. I have to put my ear within ~6 inches from it to hear the buzz. And my hearing is pretty good!

We're going around in circles here. I was trying to eliminate ONLY the external (user-controlled) variables, by having the same user use 2 units the same way. That would leave ONLY the variables inherent in the TM units themselves to account for the temp dial differences, which is what I'm...

By assuming that the person who is comparing the two units is using each of them them the exact same way - strain, draw speed, packing, etc. Yes, I know it won't be used exactly the same for each unit (the user is only human), but it would be close. That was my original point - until that...

My goal is not to determine the exact reasons for different performances between units. I'm merely trying to verify that TM units can differ from each other by quite a lot regarding the temp dial setting versus actual temp, with the difference being due to internal/inherent components or...

Those are the kinds of variables that would make each unit a bit different on the temp dial, which is the point I was trying to make. The variables I was referring to above were external variables.

This is proof positive that different units can vary in how hot they get at the same setting on the temp dial. I'm assuming all other variables (draw speed, strain, packing, etc) were the same. Thank you for confirming that!

Just wanted to add here that I ordered these and they arrived yesterday. They do not fit the stock stem as-is - the diameter is a bit shy. I used a dowel to spread it out enough to grab the inner wall of the stock stem, but the contact was still weak enough that the basket would "spin" as it...

I sent them an email yesterday because the o-ring package they had left out of my initial order should have been here by now. On May 9th they said they'd mail it out May 11th, but I haven't seen it or a tracking email.

They stay put very well, actually. And it is very comfortable to hold as well. Takes a little more precise finger placement on the Fire button, but not a deal-breaker. I started out a few days ago with just two hair bands on it - one at the top and one at the bottom - for that very reason...

Got a little crazy last night, made Tim a sweater:  But here's the truth: Stay-At-Home -> No haircuts No haircuts -> Ponytail Ponytail -> Need for hair band Need for hair band -> Wife orders cloth hair bands on Amazon Letting wife order -> 100 hair bands in assorted colors 100 hair...

Ah sorry - my mistake. I've never used MV equipment, so I didn't even know the difference. Carry on!

Is there a trick to getting them to work well? When I tried one I got no vapor at all. Seemed like the air flow went right around the capsule.

Yes I'm sure I have some around here in my workshop somewhere. :thinker: :)

There was definitely only one washer in mine.

Based on your comment, I'm wondering if I got a non-standard cooling unit. I opened it up for the first time yesterday to clean it after my first week of use (just a little sticky BTW - no major buildup at all from my microdosing - could have waited a second week). Inside the CU were (3) nuts...

I did the same experiment last night and came the the same conclusion. Though I confess I tested "remove nuts and washer" at the same time as "leave some space between the two halves of the CU". After the vapor proved much hotter, I reversed both modifications.

Thank you so much for all that info - much appreciated. And to the rest of you for the continuing discussion. Very interesting.

I like seeing the preferences, but what I'm really wondering about is the contrast between ingesting CBD oil versus vaping CBD bud. Same effect or different? One more effective than the other? Faster to act? Longer duration?

Barring an actual defect, it sounds like your dial is calibrated higher than typical for some reason. In other words you get similar results working in a dial window of 1-4 as others get from say 4-7 or 4-8. In the old FC thread people talked of a special menu that lets you calibrate that...
