I just cleaned a scary amount of reclaim out of the air passage between the atomizer and glass. Strongly recommend giving that some attention if you haven't recently.

Unless this is your first shipment from FocusV, then you have to expect there might be a couple days between order fulfillment and shipment. That's one thing it's hard to hold against them right now, even if it affects me as a customer who can't use their product until I get a vital part...

My 4th v1 atomizer has been going strong for about a week now, running minimum 10 cycles a day. My last v1 before this worked perfectly for like 12 days before it suddenly stopped. I haven't been using the v2 atty I got from FocusV at all because of the incompatibility with quartz.

Weird, I never once had an issue with that. The only time I ever had any material end up anywhere near my heating plate was when I stupidly hot loaded way too big of a dab. Cold loading the same amount never resulted in any spillage.

It just doesn't seem right that with 2 atomizers that should be mechanically identical, you need a ~100 degree temp difference to get comparable performance with the same bucket. If they're not going to drop a new quartz bucket that works better with the v2 atty at lower temps, I'd want to know...

Asked about this on the livestream and they didn't say anything about new quartz, but recommended bumping the temp to level 3 to get the old quartz working on the new atty. I don't necessarily know that this is a great idea, given the sensitivity to burnout that some of the atomizers seem to have.

I can't imagine why you'd need to wipe your bucket with iso after every single use. I either use a dry qtip or dampen it with water just a little bit and am able to fully clean it after every sesh. I've only ever soaked it in iso a couple times to clean oil that collects at the rim of the bucket...

Don't refer to beta as v anything because it's just a beta. The manufacturer has said this has caused them problems. v1 is the first tall atomizer that has 4 ridges around the plate to hold the cup in place. v2 is the tall atomizer without the ridges but with the fitted ti cup.

So, it didn't require that much sleuthing after all :lol: First let's all just agree to refer to the atties with the wall around the plate as v1 and the atties without the wall as v2. Beta atties are just that. Anyway, I just popped my v2 atty in again, only I tried it with the fitted ti cup...

My base still works fine with the first style of atomizer. I guess both things can be true: there is something wrong with the base that is causing some atomizers to short out and others to just have a poor connection, AND the new atomizers simply aren't that great. But there are just so many...

Update on this: today I was able to get another new atomizer that still had the walls around the heating plate, and it works great with my quartz cup. I tested it a few times, and then swapped in the replacement without walls that I also received today from FocusV. That one is still badly...

I got a replacement atomizer today that's different than the other two I've used so far. Looks like the same one without walls around the ceramic plate that others have described here. The quartz seems to fit comfortably inside, despite not being fitted to the heating plate like the new ti cup...

Works for me! I'm not upset, just trying to get a handle on what's causing the failures. It seemed like more of a gradual decline in functionality with the first 2, but the 3rd one just stopped working suddenly. I certainly don't mean to discourage anyone from buying the Carta. On the contrary...

I have 3 broken atomizers that I cleaned carefully and didn't overload. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the replacement FocusV is sending.

My 3rd and final atomizer died today. I was using it much more responsibly than my first 2 and never hit it back to back. It was performing pretty well up until today, but now it doesn't work at all. Bummer.

Wow, that's wild. I did the same thing recently and haven't heard back from them yet either. I made sure to stress that nothing was wrong with my base and only my atomizers burnt out. I hope they aren't just sending me a new base.
