What I did was extend the rod with the retaining nut loose, and put them together, then I split em, saw where my rod was, and pulled it out a little and locked it, but just finger tight....maybe I'll torque it a little more...don't want to F it up....so is that where most of the problems are...

Verified, it does shut down after 20 seconds...I timed it, I did not see anywhere where it had this feature, I thought it would stay on indefinitely while holding the button....all is well then! Still have a finicky Herc though, After cleaning and reassembling, it works, then doesn't...play...

That is exactly what it is doing I do have the right batteries, charge after every session?

Yes it does....I just deep cleaned my Herc...complete disassemble, boiled and ISO'd, I did not clean the coil...still have some good oil in it so I thought i would just use it again...so here is what is going on, I reassembled it after wiping everything clean and using canned air to blow it dry...

I bought one also, it is intimidating a bit, and I'm not consistent with it, seems to take a lot of fine tuning, and what works for one won't work for another, they're expensive and so far I like it, although I still have many questions about it, I just keep reading, how long should a new kiss...
