Have you checked your centre pin is not lose? I also find the mixed results very puzzling. Only time I had hot spotting was when I was experimenting with TCR and had it too high.

I got my balls on eBay. If your concerned about dirty balls, buy some spare. You can clean your balls while making a new set dirty. The top will probably need a little wipe between ball changes. A kitchen towel and some iso will probably do it. I don't find dirty balls to be a big issue...

This is the best IH the dynavap I have tried. The ability to customize your hit and replaceable 18650s make it a winner. However has it made me regain my love of dynavap? No. Dynavap just does not do it for me anymore.
