at what point do these crazy j hooks lose practicality from a cleaning and handling perspective? I found just a regular j hook cools plenty and the simplicity was the beauty of it. I feel like my clumsy self would snap this at the joint the moment I touch it lol

That’s true. The top ring is useless for sure lol. Maybe this current version can be the “low temp cap” and a better calibrated roastier cap can follow. The only problem is that these caps don’t seem cheap to buy separately. $65 for the v3 IH cap felt steep

I think at this point, it’s a matter of opinion. The market will decide how well the devices sell, based on individual interest and needs. Objectively, BFG wouldn’t spend the time and effort if they didn’t think there was a market need for their products.

I actually appreciate the way it’s calibrated now. Though the experience becomes more manual, it allows for more temperature options. One complaint though is that the click isn’t very loud and I often second guess when there’s a click, especially when I’m toasted. I also still keep the cap...

This fixed my airflow issue. Second night with the fusion and still enjoy it very much. Now that I have it dialed in where the ABV is medium brown, the flavor is phenomenal. More terpy than the v3. It’s a joy to hit through water because you can make the airflow wide open

It’s not worth using the wand tbh. Although it seats nicely, it chews through battery with how long it takes to heat up. A plug-in IH would be more appropriate. Torching takes 30 seconds max and not a bad experience at all

I think only if the device is conduction based. If convection, as long as the heat source is hot enough, it should be fine. Although to your point, fast heat ups also mean fast cool downs. Wonder if cool down time could be a limiting factor to hit size

I would consider a WPA an add on, because of the dissatisfaction with native cooling. I guess the general need to run through water is another discussion
