    On Patents and Induction Heaters

is it healthier and better for growth to have monopoly/patents and bare minimum development? or do copies/variants and competition ultimately result in a more rich environment?

i think this patent bullshit is also part of the reason the vaping industry is still so retarded in 2021 and filled with opportunists. we have very few serious companies willing to invest in this niche market and on top of that there's ridiculous claims like patenting glass nipples or twisted...

don't have it yet but chances are the new omni actually performs very close to the 19M considering the tip almost (19M tip is still a bit heavier) the same mass and airflow. i would advise your friend to get an IH before another dynavap.

@Demonic chronic it's a bit counter-intuitive but it's basically like cooking in a pan. if there's too much heat too fast (if the coil is too aggressive, too tight or shallow) you get a fast click with possibly scorched outside and under-cooked inside. think triple jet aimed too close. IME, if...

have you tried multiple IH's, from different manufacturers? DIY? sounds like poor coil calibration to me. *cough*dynatec*cough*

this is what "sealed the deal" on the small bowl setting for me. besides the efficiency aspect, i noticed screens don't really get dirty in this configuration, and spent herb just falls out when i want to dump it by gently tapping on the edge. still remove them for cleaning tho.

i find mesh screens (if they are the correct size) are much easier to put in place and remove. i think it's because it has tiny surface area contact points instead of the larger line ends of the current CCD design which makes tolerance and any sort of distortion much more of an issue. IMO the...

glad you made an account and enjoy your captive caps! however i don't think they need support as much as a little redesign/upgrade. personally i would love the vertical play removed/reduced as it brings nothing but inconsistency to an otherwise low tolerance system. not like some of are racists...

i see well even then it's just the sealing off airport functionality which is lost because the SS tips don't have a conical bore to fit the condenser taper. any 8mm ID stem fits any tip. IMHO the bs marketing claims are a step back from the finesse of the actual stem and not needed.

i like it, very nice upgrades in a classy form. pretty much everything one could ask from a stem. but ... :hmm: other stems are only compatible with specific tips AND caps? and how is it even easier to clean and maintain than the 2 part older version vortex advertised for ease of...

i'm using the condenser as a MP for native hits (because i want the feel of glass not silicone), the metal tube serves to hold everything together (like the fat MP) and it's a 14mm WPA with the o-ring there. there's also a bit of SS mesh inside to stabilize and center the condenser (not enough...

i don't have the new omni (yet) but nothing will beat the OG glass for taste. and every time i use that OG i'm surprised how hard it hits. almost never use it because i'm afraid to break it but after a few small tweaks (for more open airflow and consistency) it's secretly my fav dynavap.

so you basically remove the captivation indents and make it regular, slightly oval. i really want to like the captive cap, i want it to be an actual improvement, as round as possible for proper airflow but without the vertical play. just adjusting indents position/shape a little can achieve...

it works but this basically makes it oval like the regular cap, removing the promise of airflow evenness ah but now can you still remove the very captive cap with a magnet from a hot tip for fast reloads with delicate fingertips?

    Dynavap VapCap

or rework/update the captive cap's captivation indents to remove/diminish play (even 1mm is way too much). because from what i see this vertical looseness is present on all tips with the captive. this is basically the one thing breaking the captive cap for me.

it's not even just the tip, it's just the cap that's required for a working TED. like the OG glass is just a stem with a cap basically. this person also makes glass stems with ground tips. https://www.instagram.com/p/CNCkJBBn-l4/ https://www.instagram.com/p/CNH1zbQHYeD/ can't imagine dynavap...

6(ID)x1.2mm(T) o-rings instead of the 1mm(T) regular ones. apologies if this was already suggested. you can safely use ALU sheet (food grade) as well to increase the uh ... girth of the tip o-ring section.
