Yes, I have an Evolve Plus, with a ceramic donut and a twin quartz coil. This is what I was trying to say.
I've tried the quartz and not only does it also splatter but it definitely tastes worse...a few very very quick pulses still make it taste kinda burnt.
I think I'll just keep trying with...
Yeah I think I'll just go the small dose route. I only have an Evolve Plus and part of the draw of the donut coil was, I thought, that it has a larger load capacity. I'll play around with varying the dose size some more, cheers guys!
@waxdab23 I have tried varied speeds and haven't observed a difference. If the airflow is blocked when the pen/wax is cool then it takes a certain amount of heat to liquefy the wax to the point of creating a path for the air intake, I think that might be a source of the splatter too.
@Yocantech...
I've been wondering how much wax I'm losing to splatter on the sides of the cart. I did a quick little test and the results appear to bedismal and disappointing, what do you guys think?
1) weighed the freshly ISO cleaned ceramic donut coil and lid
2) adding 0.2g of milky way shatter
3)...
I haven't tried the dual quartz but I've found that the ceramic disc appears to fully vape everything while single coil Ti on ceramic (KISS cart from W9tech) would often have a lot of residual oil collected at the bottom. The wax I put in vanishes and the effects are pretty damn profound...that...
I do wish there was some kind of battery indicator. I had to recharge for the first time last night but my usage has been all over the place....I'll try to get a better sense of how long it lasts on this next charge!
....ah, who am I kidding, I'm not disciplined enough.
I'm also curious to see this, I'd love a cross section or disassembly of this or any ceramic disc/donut atomizer.
edit: my googlefu is still passable, found this vid which is a bit enlightening!
Oof, trying to load some very sticky wax was like playing a game of operation. Very messy, all my shit got stuck to the sides...here's a PSA, freeze or at least cool down any pull and snap, it makes loading much, much easier :)
The spatula tool is helpful but not really useful. As I use the evolve plus a lot of reclaim coats the walls of the coil housing and dropping in a new piece of shatter often gets stuck to the reclaim. The spatula isn't maneuverable enough to apply enough force to push it down, so I resort to a...
ok, so we can submerge both types of coils in ISO and it'll be OK? Great!
Hmm, I'm not sure I follow the last bit of this answer. I guess there will always be some residual concentrate left over under the ceramic disc that doesn't get sufficient heat.
I found that the removable tip of a...
Good lord I'm wrecked. I don't dare consider doing more as I still have yet to get up and make dinner but I've got another question....what is the approx max capacity? Is it generally better to load less to allow for, say, better airflow or efficiency?
Hollllllllllly crap! I just received and charged my evolve plus up, swapped out the quartz coil for a ceramic plate....loaded in some goopy Emerald OG oil...reassembled it and took a 3 second hit......
Woah! I will admit to being skeptical of the flavor claims but I have never tasted so much...
Great post and welcome back @randomtoker! I'm curious, why do you think your tank leaked when you sealed to too tightly? That seems very counter-intuitive to me and may be one of the reasons I experienced so much leaking.
That said, I'm still enjoying my current mix although I've found I get...
Co2 extracts need a different type of tank since it is not very viscous. The yocan is for wax and concentrates in a more solid form, but I don't have one (yet...tracking info for my order hasn't been updated since yesterday at 2am :() so other users can probably chime in with more info
