I'm thinking about picking up an infrared thermometer for use with a torch so I can get more consistent. The reason why the runt is still my favorite vaporizer, the torch is so much quicker. I could get my bowl prepared, grind medicine, etc while the coil is heating up, I'm just impatient...

Yes, I tried the elev8r with balls and quickly realized the draw was too restrictive for me. I can't be the only one who used a coil and no beads though...?

The elev8r is stupid simple, even with a torch. Focus the flame on the heater dimples, heat for 20-45 seconds, draw. That's it. It will take some trials to see how long to heat for your draw speed, but combustion isn't nearly a concern like the runt. :rockon:

Besides the G43 and GS, which were designed to use beads, I haven't seen a vape that really benefits from the addition of beads. The elev8r and the SSV both work flawlessly without them, and both are powerful enough to match any draw speed or water setup you can through at them. :2c:

Imo, it's too many, but I'm not a fan of beads in the elev8r. I felt that adding beads killed the free-draw nature of the piece and just took the life out of it. If I was going to add beads again, I'd only fill half way. :rockon: Edit: thanks homies for letting me know about the pid temps...

Single flame honest torch worked the best for me. I leave the triple flame for the sticky bricks. :rockon:

After two rips at 420, how dark is your material? I had a budget nail/controller, and I had it between 775-815 to clear a bowl in one. Someone mentioned that the controller probably wasn't calibrated, and that I wasn't actually at 815, so I'm interested to hear others temps. :rockon:

Typical plumbers torch. It will fit the long tanks like pictured, as well as the short tanks typically for camping and grills. I can't remember when I got the tank, but it's been a long while with daily use. Cheaper than butane by far. :rockon:

I got one of those Amazon chef torches and it didn't work for me. I wouldn't waste my time with those. I think you're right about the Mapp gas, as the instructions from elev8 say not to use Mapp. Those instructions might have also been a carryover from the Boro days, I don't know. I only use...
