Perhaps a thin washer of appropriate thickness and material between the heater and bowl would solve the problem? This could remove some conduction so the plastic quits melting and remove the metal on metal friction.
Vaping is harm reduction. It’s not safe. Like filters in cigarettes or light cigarettes.
Vaping is still a vice that is bad for you. Rationalize that all you’d like.
The dosing caps are aluminum. I’m assuming they develop a tiny amount of aluminum dust from removing and installing the cap. Lots of vapes probably have sneaky areas of contamination.
The original classic and digit also had the disclaimer of not leaving the bowl on.
I’m glad I didn’t go all in and sell my digit for a hybrid.

Advantage to d-cup is you can expose and clean all internals.
Advantage to t-bucket is it can be leveled on your glass piece.
I use my d-cup with the newvape stereo matrix bong and it sits perfectly level.
So one day with my + and I loooove it. The new plastic and shape make it feel really good in the hand. It does heat up way faster then my original crafty and I dare say the draw is slightly improved. The three temperature options are great.
