Gear Best Clearo for Pure Gold?

You might want to try some bottom coil carto's for your PG. Much less wasteful, and with a good bottom coil rig you get as much flavor without as "harsh" a throat hit. And there's much less waste with a tiny wick at the bottom versus the multiple hanging octopus that the top coil carto you show...

How many times have you recharged them? The Panasonic spec sheets show a 10% capacity drop after 300 charge/dischage cycles, but their tests aren't as severe as ours (they only discharge at 1.5A, we discharge at 4.5A). Have you tried cleaning the top and bottom contacts of the batteries on a...

Well, a little question deserves a little answer. Maybe not so little. (I meant to mention mA vs. mAh in my previous message, but it got lost in all the copying and pasting). Your question confuses me, so I'll just explain what I think is confusing you. Amps are a measurement of current...

I agree with your observations. Just fyi, I usually charge my 2250mAh cells at 1.5A, and they stay at room temp the whole time. The few times I charged them at 2.0A they also stayed at room temp, but there wasn't quite a linear reduction in charge time. Charging at 2.0A only bought me a 10%-20%...

The usual cause for the spring to distort and discolor is due to excessive current being passed through it. Indeed, that's the purpose of the type of metal alloy that TET selected for the spring; instead of letting the battery keep pumping out current into a short, which could cause catastrophic...

As much as I have faith in the batteries and some other things I have purchased from fasttech, I would be VERY wary of an under $6 "no-name" charger. It may be fine, but I have my doubts. I would stick with a recommended charger, not one with no branding at all. I just got back from a week in...

Assuming that you're using a freshly charged battery, which puts out 4.0V under Cera loads, and the most "hungry" of the Cera cores (the e-juice core) which draws ~16 Watts, then you should be fine with a 5 amp switch. The e-juice core will be drawing about 4 Amps. As the battery charge goes...

That's great news. I kinda suspected the combustion could be due to a super fine grind letting some of the load fall through the LL holes into the oven, with subsequent hits bringing the glowing bits back into the bowl and helping to combust the bottom of the load. Have you found any downside...

argh! I just managed to delete a wonderfully huge answer. sigh; doing it again. I know what you mean, though I really don't want to be known as "mr. battery". Not as bad as some of the things that OF's been called, but still... Since I still don't have a Cera, waiting for TET to get around to...

You can still get a pair (two) of the genuine Panasonic CGR18650CH batteries in a nice little plastic carrying case, for $10 (that's $5 each) from fasttech. Here's the link: the link. You may even be able to get 10% off using the coupon code "CPASTE13SPRING", though that code is a couple of...

The warmup time with the 2250 should be noticeably shorter for the first 20% of the charge in the battery. After that (the last 80% of the Cera usable charge in the battery) the 2500 and the 2900 batteries should be pretty much the same (again, when used in the Cera).

Pipes is right, and here's two cents more to add to his. The CH and the PD are the best two choices for our Cera needs. The NCR18650A (3100mAh) and the NCR18650B (3400mAh) are good cells, but not for our use. The Cera core will take longer to heat up, won't get as hot, and the battery itself...

Nah, I only bought the one for myself; I learned (the hard way) long ago not to order a bunch for friends until I check. My 510 carts don't have a center feed hole either. Have you tried one of your files on the threads? Maybe four channel cuts at 90° would work, while still remaining liquid...

I was about to post the same observation ("is that the mini"), but everyone beat me to it. If you look at a closeup of the blueprint (@2:00 and @2:38), rather than the image on the monitor earlier, you'll see the drawing of the Mini next to the Cera; don't know if they ever made a prototype...

Well, OF has been saying the same thing for as long as I can remember, and it's advice that I completely agree with ("just buy the batteries that TET recommends; they know what they're doing"). That said, there are many of us that like to feel we can do better, or just want to experiment. Not...

Yes, the LG D1 is indeed a nice cell, but... You may not have noticed that the voltage of the D1 is 4.35V, not 3.7V. The chemistry of the D1 cell is different. It does have great capacity, but it also has quite a bit of internal resistance. Note how much and how fast the voltage drops when the...

So, like OF, I'm waiting to hear from those of you that are having trouble with combusting in a Cera LL core. Have you tried hand crumbling your load instead of grinding it, and if so, did that help to prevent combusting? (Just wanted to ask since a bunch of us patted themselves on the back...
