I use beeswax, just put in like 6 little pellets in cup and 6 drops of oil. Works great and smells amazing. Plus when done the wax hardens making storage of the cup easier.

Some people have used velcro or hooks on walls or tables to help stabilize cords.. I have the non removeable cord so mine isn't as heavy, but I do have it wrapped around some things on the table to help mine from tipping over.
